School-Wide Theme!

Our 2011-12 School-wide science theme is:
"Parents, I Shrunk The Students"

The theme will help our students view "Life from Under the Scope." Students will gain a better understand of science from viewing it from different perspectives,  From a smallest bug's viewpoint, to a giant dinosaur's perspective, from the bottom of the ocean floor to the outer reaches of space!

Each month the school will study a different major science area.
Students will use different types of "scopes" (bug scope, light-beam scope, microscope, telescope, periscope, etc...) to view life and learn about major science concepts. All classrooms will study the school-wide theme area based on the state adopted science standards for their grade-level.  Students will be using our "Scientist Lab" using hands-on science materials and equipment to bring science alive! Of course, students will be reading, researching, writing, computing (math), using vocabulary, spelling science words, drawing, sorting, classifying, analyzing, and having fun all at the same time!
