Special Education Services
SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES
Elk Hills School District provides Resource Service Program (RSP), Special Day Class (SDC) and Speech services for students that qualify. The school program is offered in two settings, 1) "Push-in" Classroom support services, where instructional aides support students within the regular education classroom, and 2) "Pull-out" program, where students that need additional individual support recieve instruction in the special education room (Room10).

SPECIAL EDUCATION
2010-11 Board Report
RSP/SDC
As of January 10, 2011, eight students ranging from grades three through eight receive special education services. Seven of these students receive services in the resource room; one student is designated as a special day class student and spends approximately 60% of his day in room one.
SPEECH/LANGUAGE
Ten students are currently receiving speech/language services twice weekly from a speech therapist provided by the County Office.
INTERVENTION
Three students receive intervention on a regular basis. Several others take advantage of our “open door policy”, where they come in as needed. In addition, five students from room 5 come in each day for assistance in math. Last, there are currently five students whom we are monitoring in their respective classrooms.
SSTs
Twenty-one Student Study Team meetings have been held with two meetings scheduled thus far for the month of January. Of the twenty-one students, one was eventually placed in special education with one other waiting for assessment to be completed.
