It is not too late to sign up for summer camp! All incoming TK-8th students are welcome to sign up and join us for a DEEP DIVE into learning during the month of June! Students will be immersed in math, reading, art, and enrichment programs to help them stay above water as they get ready to swim into the next school year! Any students who do not miss more than two days of summer camp will be treated to a fun-filled day of learning at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach on the last day of summer camp. Summer camp runs June 1-June 30 from 8:30AM-1:30PM. Breakfast and lunch provided. We will also have the after school program from 1:30PM-4:30PM. Transportation will be provided for summer camp students, but there is no transportation for students staying in the afterschool program. Elk Hills annual Water Day will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026! We will have a cash-only snack bar, please send money in a ziploc bag with the student's name written in permanent marker on the outside. Students must wear school-appropriate swim attire in order to participate. Please be sure to send a change of dry clothes, a towel, and sun screen. This will be a regular dismissal day, with school ending at 3PM.

Tomorrow evening is our annual Spring Festival and Classroom Showcase! Please join us from 5PM-7PM for an evening of fun, resources, and community connection! Entry, resource fair, and bounce houses are free! The Scholastic Book Fair will be open for purchases. Opportunity Drawing tickets for our amazing baskets and Elk Hills t-shirts will be on sale (cash only). Tony's Snow Time Snowie Bus and Poppin Kettle will be here for food and drinks, and we will have water ($1.00) and soda ($2.00) for sale in the cafeteria (cash only). Classrooms will be open from 5:15PM-6:15PM for you to view your child's class project, see their classroom, and chat with their teacher. We look forward to spending tomorrow evening with you all!

The Scholastic Book Fair opens in the auditorium next week! Students will have a preview day on Monday to check it out and see what's of interest to them. Students will be able to shop during their assigned lunch recess on Monday and Tuesday and they will have a designated time to go in with their class. On Thursday, the book fair will only be open during the hours of the Spring Festival. Students will have one last chance to shop from 8AM-10AM on Friday with teacher permission. Please be sure that if you are sending cash with your student to shop that it is placed into a ziploc bag with their name written on it.

It's that time of year again, Spring Festival & Classroom Showcase time! This year's annual fun-filled event will be held on Thursday, May 14th, 2026 from 5PM-7PM. We invite all our students, families, extended families, and the community to join us! Entry is free! Bounce houses are free! We will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair during this time, we will also have a food vendor, Tony's Snowtime Snowie Bus, and opportunity drawing basket tickets available for purchase (cash only for ticket purchases). Several resources will be on site as well!
A flier with opportunity drawing basket themes will go out next week, with a physical flier and a sheet of tickets going home next Friday (4/24). The student who sells the most tickets by 5/11 will recieve a $100 gift card of their choosing! Please note, to be eiligible to be entered to win the gift card ALL tickets and money MUST be turned in by 3:00PM on 5/11.

We are seeking four volunteers who are 16+ to help man the bounce houses for one hour each during our Spring Festival and Classroom Showcase on 5/14/26! We need three to work from 5PM-6PM and one to work from 6PM-7PM. If you have a high school student who needs community service hours, this is perfect, but anyone over 16 is welcome to help out! On May 19, our 2nd & 3rd grade classes will be visiting the Tehachapi Depot Museum for a fun day of learning about the history of the railroad! After the museum, the students will be treated to a pizza lunch at the museum. If you would like to chaperone, please let your student's teacher know as soon as possible!
