Hi Elk Hills Families! We will be attending the Small Schools League swim day at McKittrick Elementary School on Wednesday, August 26 (TK-4th) and Friday, August 28 (5th-8th). This is an annual event that our students have so much fun attending! Elk Hills will provide a school lunch but there will also be a snack bar with items available for purchase! Please note that Wednesday, August 26 will still be an early dismissal day. We look forward to a great, fun-filled day!

Hello Families! We are so excited to welcome our Elks back to campus tomorrow morning! Please be aware that we have removed the bus stops at the Catholic Church and Urgent Care, and created a new bus stop at the Westside Believers Fellowship located at 101 CA-33 Taft, CA 93268. Please see the bus schedule below for times and please be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes early for both morning drop off and afternoon pick up.
Tomorrow is a minimum day with school being dismissed at 1:30PM, please ensure the timely pickup of your students from campus and bus stops.
From 12:30PM-1:30PM Bombshell Sweets will be on campus for students to make purcahses, if you'd like your student to be able to purchase something, please send cash in a ziploc bag with their name on it.
After school she will be available outside of campus for the community to make purchases.

Hello Elk Families! We hope you have all been enjoying your summer and have taken some time to relax and refresh! The 26-27 school year is quickly approaching: a back to school welcome letter, a Back to School Family Picnic flier, and the 26-27 master calendar have been mailed out to all currently enrolled familes, so please be on the lookout for that. Our annual Back to School Night Family Picnic will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Come enjoy a slice of pizza on us, tour the campus, meet your teacher, see your classroom, and reconnect with your favorite Elk Hills staff member! We are also happy to announce that we are partnering wiith Omni and Kern Family Health to bring a mobile clinic to the school during the Back to School Family Picnic for sports physicals and required vaccinations. You must have Medi-Cal or private insurance to be seen, however; there will also be Medi-Cal navigators on site to help you renew or enroll! Our first day of school for the 26-27 school year will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, campus will open at 8:00AM and class starts promptly at 8:30AM. Good Afternoon! Our first day of school for the 26-27 school year will be Wednesday, August 12, 2026. A bus schedule and information regarding our Back to School Family Picnic will be posted in the first week of August. Please note that the district office and the Elk Hills School campus will be closed 7/1/26-7/31/26, if you need information during this time you can email Mrs. Touchstone or Miss Pate. Be on the lookout in mid-July for correspondence from Mrs. Touchstone regarding other important information for the 26-27 school year. Tomorrow, 5/27, our students will have a water day in the morning and an awards assembly in the afternoon. We will have a regular dismissal at 3:00pm. Please see the post for the snack bar menu that will be open during the water activities. Every student will receive a complimentary snow cone!

It is not too late to sign up for summer camp! All incoming TK-8th students are welcome to sign up and join us for a DEEP DIVE into learning during the month of June! Students will be immersed in math, reading, art, and enrichment programs to help them stay above water as they get ready to swim into the next school year! Any students who do not miss more than two days of summer camp will be treated to a fun-filled day of learning at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach on the last day of summer camp. Summer camp runs June 1-June 30 from 8:30AM-1:30PM. Breakfast and lunch provided. We will also have the after school program from 1:30PM-4:30PM. Transportation will be provided for summer camp students, but there is no transportation for students staying in the afterschool program. Elk Hills annual Water Day will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026! We will have a cash-only snack bar, please send money in a ziploc bag with the student's name written in permanent marker on the outside. Students must wear school-appropriate swim attire in order to participate. Please be sure to send a change of dry clothes, a towel, and sun screen. This will be a regular dismissal day, with school ending at 3PM.
