"Hello! I am Mrs. Kaylene. I am the TK/Kinder Aide. This is my first year working here and I love it! I graduated from Grand Canyon University last fall, and just moved back to Taft this summer. I am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two sons, Kylian and Kai. I love reading and baking, as well as spending time with my family. I am excited to be a part of the Elk Hills community because I am able to see our small family grow and support each other. As a previous Elk Hills School student, I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve and give back to the place that was so welcoming years ago."

This year, Elk Hills is starting a new social media blurb called "Staff Spotlight" where we will highlight one of our amazing staff members every two weeks!
Our very first Staff Spotlight will be our brand new TK/Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Marlee McDonald! Here is what she would like you to know about her:
"My name is Marlee McDonald, and I am excited to join Elk Hills as the new kindergarten and TK teacher. I graduated from California State University, Bakersfield with a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies Multiple Subject Teaching. Over the past eight years, I have had the pleasure of teaching preschool, where I have developed a passion for creating a classroom environment that’s welcoming, positive and exciting. I believe that every student should feel valued, safe and comfortable in my classroom, and I constantly strive to instill and foster a love of learning in all my students. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, listening to music, and spending time with family. I am excited to be a part of this wonderful community and look forward to working with you and your children this upcoming school year!"
