There is no school Monday, February 9, 2026 in observance of Abraham Lincoln's birthday. School resumes Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Our 8th grade students have the opportunity to visit the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 10. Please see the post for details!

It is time for our 3rd benchmark testing of the school year. We are hopeful and excited to see your students' growth over this last quarter. Please see the post for tips to help provide the best testing week possible. Extra testing time will be available the following week for make-up testing.

Saturday Learning Camp Canceled Due to Fog TODAY 1/31. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Just a reminder that we have our second Saturday Learning Camp tomorrow, 1/31. The bus route will be sent out on Parentsquare. Please note that if there is heavy fog, you will be notified and the camp will be canceled. We look forward to seeing the students tomorrow for our extra learning time!

Dear Parents of 4th & 5th Grade Students,

Due to the fog delay today, we will be attending the 11:00am concert for the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra. Students will leave as soon as they arrive at school . Thank you!

Our 4th & 5th grade students will be heading to the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra tomorrow, January 30. Students will be back to campus in time for lunch on campus. Please see the post for more details!

On Friday, January 30, our students will get to experience a "taste" of a Farmer's Market!" With the help of a grant from the CDE and the facilitation of our cafeteria staff, all of our students will get to "shop" at our very own Farmer's Market. Students will receive "Elk Bucks" to shop. Please see the post for more details!

Last Friday marked the 100th day of school and while we did not meet our attendance goal of 100%, we will still had fun with the students who were here that day! Staff, students, and families were greeted by an amazing yard card to kick off the morning- lots of photos were taken! During the students' lunch recesses there was a photo opportunity, fun music to dance to, and a treat with a little note reminding students and staff of how "sweet" it is that we have spent 100 days together!

We're now on the countdown to summer with only 77 more schools days to go! I know as the year goes on, and the sun comes out to play, it may become more difficult to get students to school, but as we inch closer to the end of the year it is extremely important that all students are here on a daily basis as they will begin learning the foundational skills they will need when they level up to the next grade in the 26-27 school year.
