This year, Elk Hills is starting a new social media blurb called "Staff Spotlight" where we will highlight one of our amazing staff members every two weeks!
Our very first Staff Spotlight will be our brand new TK/Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Marlee McDonald! Here is what she would like you to know about her:
"My name is Marlee McDonald, and I am excited to join Elk Hills as the new kindergarten and TK teacher. I graduated from California State University, Bakersfield with a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies Multiple Subject Teaching. Over the past eight years, I have had the pleasure of teaching preschool, where I have developed a passion for creating a classroom environment that’s welcoming, positive and exciting. I believe that every student should feel valued, safe and comfortable in my classroom, and I constantly strive to instill and foster a love of learning in all my students. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, listening to music, and spending time with family. I am excited to be a part of this wonderful community and look forward to working with you and your children this upcoming school year!"

Welcome back Elks! We are so excited to kick off a brand new school year and to continue our work in lowering absence rates and raising math and literacy knowledge! We look forward to spending time with our Elks during the school days, and their families during our various events throughout the school year. Please be sure to follow our social media pages on Facebook (Elk Hills School District) and Instagram (elk.hills.school.district) to stay up to date on all the happenings on campus! We are excited for the 24-25 school year, may it be the best one yet! Please join us tomorrow, August 9, from 5:00pm-7:00pm, for our annual Back to School Family Picnic! We will be serving complimentary pizza. & cold water. We have new Elk Hills tshirts in stock for sale in both adult and student sizes. Also, we will be having a book sale in our library to make room for our new "Family Resource Center" (cash only please). Tony's Snow Cone bus will be here as well! Meet your student's teacher and join the fun!
The Snowie Bus will be on campus during the Back to School Family Picnic with lots of delicious treats for purchase! Cool off with a shaved ice or mangonada! Prices range from $4-$10.
Join us this Friday, August 09, from 5PM-7PM for our annual Back to School Family Picnic! Meet the staff, tour the campus, and enjoy some free pizza! We look forward to seeing you all there! We have missed you!

Elk Hills Summer Camp is headed to the Los Angeles Zoo on Friday, June 28! Permission slips will be sent home today. Please return the permission slip by Monday, June 17. Parents are welcome to chaperone/attend the trip as well. We will be transported by charter bus. Please let the office know ASAP if you would like to attend and/or ride the charter bus so that we may plan accordingly. We are looking forward to an exciting trip!
Summer Camp Bus Schedule
School gets out at 3:00pm today 5/29/24, and tomorrow 5/30/24 school gets out at 1:30pm! Kindergarten graduation is at 9:00am and 8th grade graduation is at 6:00pm tomorrow. We wish everyone a Wonderful Summer. Summer School starts on Monday, June 3. School resumes on August 12th!
